ADAMS COUNTY PUBLIC HOSPITAL DISTRICT #2

Wine Tasting and Auction

18th Annual

Sept. 25, 2010

The East Adams County Healthcare Foundation will hold their 18th annual Wine Tasting and Auction on Sept. 25, 2010.  The theme this year will be “Hawaiian Nights”.  A variety of wines will be available to taste and purchase along with microbrews from Rocky Coulee Brewery in Odessa.  A delicious array of Hawaiian themed food will be catered and plans are being finalized for special entertainment.

Many wonderful silent auction items will be available to bid on throughout the evening and a live auction starting at 8:00 pm will include over 40 one of a kind opportunities for hotel packages, group specialty dinners, gift basket and more.

The money raised this year will be used to purchase needed medical equipment for East Adams Rural Hospital and the District clinics and also to fund the Ronald Baumann Memorial Scholarship which the Foundation established to support students enrolled in healthcare related programs.

Mark your calendars for Sept. 25th to attend this fun event and help support the efforts of the East Adams County Healthcare Foundation.

Over the years, the East Adams County Healthcare Foundation has continuously supported the hospital by helping with activities promoting public awareness of hospital services, collecting and distributing memorial contributions and sponsoring a major fund raising event each year with the proceeds designated for a specific preselected hospital project.  Over the years the foundation has purchased or made a significant financial contribution to many items of medical equipment such as a blood warmer, IV pumps, blanket warmer, and pulse oximeters.  They have also contributed to redecoration of the acute care patient rooms, the purchase of new ambulances for Ritzville, Lind and Washtucna, a new entry ramp for physical therapy, the remodel of the Lind and Washtucna clinics and  most recently the installation of automatic door openers at the hospital entrances.  The funds raised in recent years were used to purchase power exam tables for the Ritzville Medical Clinic and a new portable EKG machine. In 2009-10 physical therapy equipment for the new swing bed program at East Adams Rural Hospital, a training mannequin for EMS and sponsored free lab testing at the District's annual Health Fair. In addition they will be purchasing new lobby furniture for East Adams Rural Hospital Lobby. The Foundation’s efforts on behalf of the hospital and clinics have had a significant impact on the hospital’s ability to modernize and update equipment and services.

Currently the major sources of funding for the East Adams County Healthcare Foundation are memorial contributions, individual donations and the annual wine tasting and auction which is held every fall.  Through the efforts of the foundation members and generosity of individuals and businesses in the area the wine tasting and auction has grown into an enjoyable and profitable annual event.
